HI! I'M JOHN...
I've been teaching private lessons full time since 2004. I teach adults and kids ~ newbies, hobby-ist and pro-musicians... out of my professional studio in the West Highlands Neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. My students often comment that I'm patient, intuitive, explain things in ways anyone can understand and that they learn more in a shorter time than they've previously experienced. I look forward to working with you!
FREE INTRO LESSON
I offer a free, full length, introductory lesson (not a just consultation). So you can see if it's for you.
LEARN WHAT YOU WANT
Your lessons are about you and your musical wishes and desires! I offer fun, inspiring, practical, customized-to-you instruction geared to your individual interests, goals and pace.
REAL MUSIC. RIGHT AWAY!
I help you immediately make music you enjoy and see real improvement, all while complimenting your learning process with practical technical and music theory skills that are relevant to you.
NEVER SUNG, PLAYED OR TAKEN LESSONS?
No worries. You've come to the right place! I teach lessons for never-ever students in a simple and straight-forward way that anyone can easily understand and integrate... Even those who may think they are non-musical and can't hold a tune...
IN A BAND? PRO MUSICIAN OR VOCALIST?
I've worked with dozens of local bands, artists and singers to help them improve their vocal abilities, learn the skills they want to learn, and find and enhance their own unique sound. Read the "For pro, semi-pro and hobby musicians" section on the Lessons Overview & Teaching Philosophy Page.
MOST MUSICAL STYLES
Lessons in rock, folk, modern, pop, country, blues, heavy, R&B, ethnic/world, bluegrass, jazz, musical theater and most styles in between.
SINGING, GUITAR, ETC.
I also teach songwriting, performance and auditioning skills, recording, music technology, and music theory.
LESSONS FOR ALL
Lessons for all ages: adults and kids. All abilities: newbie, beginning, intermediate and advanced. And all reasons: just for yourself, just for fun, hobby-ists, and pro-musicians and vocalists.
THINK YOU CAN'T SING?
Read the "special note" section on the Lessons Overview & Teaching Philosophy Page.
DON'T HAVE A GUITAR?
If you don't have a guitar, you can use one mine for your intro lesson, and I can help you figure out what guitar will work best for budget and needs. Or you are welcome to contact me for free guitar buying advice.
If you want to give the gift of music lessons, you receive 5 lessons for the price of 4. (So you get the same deal as regular students who get the free intro lesson.) Please go to the Gift Certificates Page for the details on how to purchase a gift certificate.
